A Solihull carpets firm is seeing “steady” progress for its new branch in Studley, secured with the aid of commercial property agents John Truslove.
Wes Fenton, director of Solihull Carpets said it followed a two-year search for premises.
After a plan to expand into Longbridge fell through – “fortunately as it turned out” – Wes Fenton and his business partner worked with John Truslove to find a second store for their Solihull Carpets business, based in Shakespeare Drive.
“We had already worked with John Truslove – they helped us find our warehouse premises on Walkers Road in Redditch – so we knew how good they were, but James Haynes, their young apprentice surveyor, was brilliant. He worked hard to help us find premises and then kept us informed every step of the way.”
Working with James, the company was able to seal a deal on leasing 1,092 sq ft of space at 15a Alcester Road, in Studley.
“James was particularly helpful during some protracted negotiations with the landlord,” added Wes.
“We’re well established in Shirley and now steadily building up a customer base in Studley. We aim to be here for the long term.”
Solihull Carpets has been in operation for ten years, but Wes Fenton and his business partner, Richard Stocks, have been in the business for their entire working lives – “I started at 17 and I’m still going at 41”.
