Businessman Ben Truslove’s marathon efforts for Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove

Local businessman Ben Truslove is donning his shorts and running shoes this weekend to raise much needed funds for the Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove.

Commercial property expert Ben, who is joint managing director of John Truslove Ltd in Redditch, has already raised more than £1,500 from supporters.

And he is hoping for more donations to help him reach £2,000 by the time he completes the 26-mile challenge on Sunday 3 October.

Ben said: “Primrose Hospice is a wonderful charity which provides care for patients living with life limiting illnesses, as well as giving support to their families.

“Our business John Truslove has regularly supported the hospice and this year I wanted to challenge myself to raise even more money for what is a great cause.”

Primrose Hospice not only provides care but also helps if patients need home adjustments, physiotherapy, medication reviews or emotional support.

It’s an independent charity and relies heavily on support from the local community to help it raise more than £1.75 million it needs each year to provide its services for patients and their families

Abi Coulson, corporate fundraiser at Primrose Hospice, said: “Many people don’t know how to respond when someone says they have a life-limiting illness like cancer or a cardiovascular disease.

“Primrose is there to tackle the taboo and help break into conversations about illnesses, choices and death.”

She added: “We’d like to send a big ‘thank you’ to Ben for supporting us Ben. We are so grateful to have him running for us and sporting a bright yellow running vest!”
