John Truslove aids expansion at growing debt recovery firm with third premises on Harris Business Park
A jobs boom in the wake of a growing workload has seen Bromsgrove-based outsourcing and debt recovery company Controlaccount turn to commercial property agency John Truslove to secure additional office space.
With the aid of Ian Parker, joint managing director of John Truslove, Controlaccount has taken 4,500 sq ft of high quality space at the distinctive Oak Tree House building on the Harris Business Park at Stoke Prior, to operate alongside its two existing offices on the estate.
This is enabling it to cater for a surge in new staff, with 23 people hired across six departments in just six months, increasing the workforce by more than a third to 84.
Although most staff are working remotely during the coronavirus pandemic, the offices will provide the extra space to keep staff two metres apart as well as providing executive offices and client meeting rooms.
Controlaccount is an outsourcing and debt recovery firm with a client list including global clients, SMEs and not-for-profit organisations.
Since moving its operations from London to the Midlands, the firm has expanded to two leased offices on the Harris Business Park – Compass House and Connect House. It has now taken 4,507 sq ft of space at Oak Tree House.
Managing director David Harvey said: “Controlaccount has experienced substantial growth over the past five years and it became clear that we needed more space to expand our workforce, as well as create multiple meeting rooms for our clients.
“Like many businesses, we are currently working from remote environments but our view is to return to the offices – in some shape or form. However, two metre plus spacing could be a challenge in some departments – particularly our multi-seat call centre – so the addition of Oak Tree House to our portfolio is welcomed and will allow us to reopen safely, protecting our staff and the community.
“John Truslove has been very helpful in ensuring the successful completion of the lease despite the challenges of the pandemic.”
Ian Parker negotiated a five year lease for Controlaccount in its new offices.
He said: “We are delighted to have been able to play a part in assisting another local employer to keep expanding.
“Our unrivalled knowledge of the local property market and our strong relationship with the leading commercial landlords makes John Truslove the automatic choice for any growing businesses when they are looking for new or additional premises.”
The lease agreement was handled by Controlaccount’s in-house legal team headed up by Susan Winnington.
Redditch-based chartered surveyors and valuers John Truslove was recently named Most Active Agent in Worcestershire in the Radius Data Exchange survey produced in conjunction with EG, the commercial property market magazine.
Joint managing director Ian Parker was also named Worcestershire Dealmaker of the Year AND Warwickshire Dealmaker of the Year for 2020. The survey year, which runs from August to August, saw John Truslove record a 36% increase in deals negotiated over the 12 months.
