John Truslove helps vehicle repair firm accelerate into the future

A vehicle repair and maintenance company is moving up a gear after buying its new home, thanks to help from property agents John Truslove.

Avancer Transport has moved from its previous base in Redditch to a new base on the Park Farm Industrial Estate, allowing it to expand the services it can offer both private motorists and commercial vehicle operators.

It is a major step forward for the business, which has grown to employ eight people since it was started up eight years ago by directors Lisa and Malcolm Chance, John Hickey and Simon Jones.

As well as expanding its capacity for working on MOT tests, maintenance and repairs for Cars, Vans, Coaches, HGVs, Horseboxes and Trailers, Avancer has been able to install a brake tester in the wake of increasing demand following upgrades to Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency regulations.

Lisa Chance, Avancer’s company secretary, said: “In the past we have had to send vehicles away for brake testing, but now we can handle everything in-house.

“Our new premises are a similar size to the previous property, but we can use the space more efficiently, with three HGV and Coach bays at the rear and three car and light commercial bays at the front, as well as a commercial brake tester and a new MOT inspection ramp.

“More importantly, we will now own our own premises, rather than renting. We started working on the new premises in May and everything is ready now – roller shutters, new offices, even the signage at the front. It’s a big move forward for us as a business.”

Avancer has acquired the 5,638 sq ft factory/warehouse at Unit 2, Upper Crossgate Road, with the aid of Ian Parker, joint managing director of commercial property agents John Truslove.

“Ian helped us find our first premises on the Park Farm estate,” said Lisa.

“He’s a great guy and fabulous to work with. We saw the ‘For Sale’ sign go up at Unit 2, rang Ian and he got us the keys to have a look around straight away. And the rest is history. He’s been really helpful throughout the whole process.”

Ian Parker added: “Here at John Truslove we work closely with both landlords and tenants, ensuring companies find the right premises. It was time for Avancer Transport to take the next step as a business and we are delighted to have been able to help them find the right unit in Redditch, helping the town retain jobs and a thriving company.

“This deal shows there is strong demand for premises in the Redditch and Bromsgrove area. Our unrivalled expertise in the local commercial property market means we are in prime position to help both landlords and companies looking for new premises.”

The landlord of the unit was represented by the Solihull branch of HCB Solicitors.
