Johnstone’s Paint expands to new Redditch trade counter to cater for growing business, aided by John Truslove
PPG has hailed the success of its move to bigger premises, with their network of Johnstone’s Decorating Centres, in Redditch, aided by property agents John Truslove.
The famous brand has taken on two units at the refurbished Bryant House on the Park Farm Industrial Estate, combining them to create warehousing and a spacious front retail area.
Ian Parker, joint managing director of John Truslove, worked with the Johnstone’s Trade team and landlords Business Village to secure the firm a ten year lease on the 4,049 sq ft of space.
Tom Evans, regional controller for Johnstone’s Decorating Centres in the area, said: “We had outgrown our previous premise and the site at Bryant House gave us much higher visibility to passing traffic.
“It is about half as big again as our previous premises in Redditch. It also sits alongside allied but not competing businesses like a plumbers’ merchant and a carpet salesroom.
“These kinds of premises are hard to find. They hit a sweet spot in terms of size and enable us to carry a better stock profile and have a dedicated sales area.
“While we have customers among the general public our core market are painters, decorators and trades people, and we have already seen an increase in business just in the few weeks since we moved in.
“The landlords have been very co-operative and helpful with the changes we needed to make to the premises and the team at John Truslove have been excellent, helping the whole process move smoothly and as rapidly as possible.”
Ian Parker, joint managing director at John Truslove, sealed the leasing agreement that saw PPG, the parent company of Johnstone’s Trade take a ten year lease on 4 & 5 Bryant House, providing 4,049 sq ft of space.
Mr Parker said: “The landlords Business Villages have continued to invest in refurbishing the Bryant House site since they acquired it, which has seen us help them secure MG dealership Paul Rigby last year with prestigious new showroom facilities.
“They have made Bryant House an attractive proposition for businesses, hence their success in signing up PPG and Johnstone’s Decorating Centre as their newest tenant. We are delighted to have been able to help bring another successful business name to the property, which will provide Johnstone’s Trade with an excellent platform for further growth in this area.”
“As the leading commercial property experts in this area, we specialise in bringing together the right tenants with the right landlords, to everyone’s mutual benefit.”
PPG’s own legal department handled the leasing for the Johnstone’s Decorating Centre network.
