Simply Eco Packaging set for further growth after choosing Redditch as national distribution hub with the aid of John Truslove

A fast growing eco-friendly packaging firm has chosen Redditch as its new national distribution hub and is already looking to expand, with the aid of commercial property agents John Truslove.

Simply Eco Packaging is one of three parts of the London-based NGW Group, formed in February last year, and supplies biodegradable food packaging from trays, cutlery and cups to pizza boxes, sandwich bags and napkins.

With its central offices in London, the firm contacted Redditch-based commercial property agents John Truslove to find premises for a distribution hub.

The firm is now operating from a 1,121 sq ft warehouse, Unit 19 on Thornhill Road, on the North Moons Moat industrial estate in Redditch, but operations manager Trevor Histon says the rapid success and growth of the firm means they will soon be asking the team at John Truslove to find them even bigger premises.

Mr Histon said: “Simply Eco Packaging formed in March 2020 and was initially being run from homes in Redditch and London. Due to increase in sales a warehouse property had to found as soon as possible.

“Ben Truslove at John Truslove was brilliant. We managed to find a warehouse on North Moons Moat and within three weeks we had the keys to the warehouse.

“Sales had grown that much in a short space of time, we had carriers collecting full loads of traffic from our homes, so to have Ben and his team get us the keys so quickly was amazing.

“We have three brands under NGW Group- Simply Catering Equipment, Simply Eco Packaging and now Fusion Hygiene, which was launched in June.

“Our focus is Simply Eco Packaging, which has grown massively since the Covid-19 outbreak and the subsequent lockdown. We distribute eco-friendly packaging to cafes, restaurants, takeaways, and food outlets nationwide.

“The day-to-day business operation is run by me out of the warehouse in Redditch, while purchasing and sales are run by our team in London. We started with two employees but, due to growth, two more employees will be needed before the end of the year.”

Mr Histon added: “Due to the growth of Simply Eco Packaging and our new cleaning business, Fusion Hygiene, the warehouse on North Moons Moat will soon be outgrown and Ben and his team will be given the opportunity to find our new premises.”

Ben Truslove, joint managing director at John Truslove, said: “We pride ourselves on our unrivalled knowledge of the local commercial property scene, so when Trevor Histon and Simply Eco Packaging got in touch we had a number of potential sites on our books.

“Unit 19 on the North Moons Moat estate provided warehouse and office space as well as vehicle parking and was tailor-made for their needs. This is a rapidly growing business and we look forward to helping them with the next stage in their expansion.”

Simply Eco Packaging was advised by Advice Network Ltd, and the landlords Mileway Real Estate were advised by DWF Law LLP.
