Swan Travel in pole position for 2021 after £240,000 deal for new headquarters, secured through John Truslove

Minibus and coach-hire firm Swan Travel is preparing for a bumper post-Covid-19 2021 after property agents John Truslove helped seal a £240,000 deal for new premises.

When work slowed to a trickle during the year’s first lockdown, the team at Swan Travel decided to use the opportunity to buy their own premises, after renting for the firm’s first three years.

The firm is now established at the 1,214 sq ft Unit 26, at 20 St James Road in Tyseley, and they have hailed the support they received from Ben Truslove, joint managing director at John Truslove, the agents for the property’s owner.

Swan Travel manager Azim Nawaz said: “The place is amazing, and it gives us plenty of space to keep growing.

“We had really good communication from Ben. He gets a 10 out of 10 from us. We know who we will contact first the next time we have property requirements – he did a great job for us as well as for the owner.”

The business has been growing rapidly since it was set up in 2017, attracting regular custom from corporate customers including the BBC and ITV, transporting officials for sporting events such as the ICC cricket world cup in 2017 and working with overseas clients from Japan, Spain, Germany and the USA.

At the same time Swan Travel’s fleet of minibuses and midi coaches has also carried customers to family celebrations, weddings and days-out.

Azim Nawaz said: “We had been surprised by just how well the first three years had gone, with a growing client list and great reviews from our customers.

“We had just bought three new vehicles when the shutdown came in March. I think we’ve had about 13 days working since then.

“Although we expect to be busy over Christmas we think it will be Easter before things start getting back to normal, so we decided to use the time to put ourselves on a better footing. Our lease was ending at our previous property so we decided to buy our new home. We feel these premises give us a great base to keep growing into the future.”

Ben Truslove said: “Swan Travel have used this year’s pause in trading very wisely. They know the strength of their business and are confident for the future, so it made perfect sense to seek out premises for them to buy and we at John Truslove had a client with property for sale that absolutely fited the bill.

“We are delighted to have secured this sale for our client and hope to work with Swan Travel as they continue to grow in the future.”

Redditch-based chartered surveyors and valuers John Truslove was recently named Most Active Agent in Worcestershire in the Radius Data Exchange survey produced in conjunction with EG, the commercial property market magazine.

Joint managing director Ian Parker was also named Worcestershire Dealmaker of the Year AND Warwickshire Dealmaker of the Year for 2020. The survey year, which runs from August to August, saw John Truslove record a 36% increase in deals negotiated over the 12 months.
